Georgia junior Kyle Garland won the men's heptathlon title with 6,639 points to eclipse the collegiate record of 6,499 points achieved in 2010 by Oregon's Ashton Eaton. Garland achieved the No. 2 performance in world indoor history, trailing only the 6,645 points accumulated Eaton in 2012 in Turkey. Garland had a 26-1.50 (7.96m) long jump and produced a mark of 7.74 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles among his two-day highlights, securing the third men's heptathlon crown for Georgia, including Devon Williams in 2017 and Karel Tilga in 2021. |
