Kyle Garland, a sophomore at Georgia, took third in the men's decathlon with 8,333 points at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Garland, the collegiate record holder with 8,720 points, produced a personal-best 4:41.96 in the 1,500 meters to achieve the best third-place mark in the history of the Division 1 final.
